Lost Passport Replacement Cost (2026): $165.00

There is no discount “replacement” line on the fee schedule. An adult book is treated like a first-time file: $165.00 for routine service with a photo you already have ($130.00 + $35.00). As of September 1, 2026. You also complete Form DS-64.

Does this scenario require an execution fee?

Yes for an adult book replacement in person, same as first-time: $130.00 + $35.00.

You cannot DS-82 a missing book

Mail renewal needs the old book. If it is gone, you are on DS-11 in person plus DS-64 describing the loss. Report the loss so the old number can be invalidated. Applying without DS-64, or pretending you still have the book, is how people end up with two valid numbers and a problem at the airport.

The money matches first-time because the work matches first-time: identity, citizenship, in-person execution. Expedite $60.00 if you cannot wait 6-8 weeks. File search $150.00 only if you also lack citizenship evidence, not merely because the book is missing.

If you are already traveling

Overseas losses go through a US embassy or consulate, not this calculator’s domestic acceptance-facility path. Domestically, a trip inside a few days is an agency appointment question, not a mailed expedite. Read urgent rules and the agency page.

Stolen passports sometimes involve a police report. Facilities may ask for it. It does not replace DS-64. Documents overview: checklist.

Same fees as first-time adult for a book. Compare before you assume a replacement discount exists. Child lost book: child cost.
